CERTIFICATES & CLASSES

MARINE & OFFSHORE DOORS
All our marine and offshore products are fire-tested and certified according to SOLAS and IMO standard IMO 754(18) / FTP 2010 and have EC/MED and USCG certificates. IMO – International Maritime Organization – is the UN’s specialist body responsible for maritime safety and the prevention of sea and air pollution from ships.

Our fire-resistant steel doors are tested according to the following fire classes: Class B: Class B: exposed to fire for 30 minutes and must meet the requirements for stability and integrity within this time. The specific class designations (B-0, B-15, B-30) reveal the insulation quality of the systems with respect to given temperature limits.

Class A: exposed to fire for 60 minutes and must meet the requirements for stability and integrity within this time. The specific class designations (A-0, A-15, A-30, A-60) reveal the insulation quality of the systems with respect to given temperature limits.

PROPERTY DOORS
Momec’s classified steel doors for properties are tested and certified for burglary, fire, gas and sound. This is done on an ongoing basis according to current rules and standards. You can see below some of the most common classifications for security doors.

Burglary-rated security doors
RC3-rated door in accordance with SS-EN 1627.
Time: Total test time* 20 min of which effective attack time 5 min.
Method: Intruders are expected to try to break in using brute force.
Tools: Attack with chisels and crowbars.

RC4-rated door according to SS-EN 1627.
Time: Total test time* 30 min of which effective attack time 10 min.
Method: The intruder is prepared to take a greater risk for a longer period of time.
Tools: Attack with chisels, crowbar, saw, hammer, axe and battery-powered drill.

Fire-rated security doors
Security doors for properties must by law be fire-rated to protect life and property against fire. This is according to the Swedish National Board of Housing building regulations BBR. There are many different fire ratings, of which we try to report the most essential ones.
• Our RC3 door is fire-rated in accordance with EI2-EW60
• The fire ratings EI and EW refer to the ability of doors in a fire cell boundary to withstand fire for a certain time, e.g. 30, 60, minutes.
• EI prevents open flames from passing and at the same time must satisfy a maximum temperature rise (max. 180°C on the door leaf and 360°C on the frame).
• EW prevents open flames from passing along with limitation of radiant heat (max. 15 kW/m2). During fire tests, the test oven follows a standardized temperature curve where the heat is over 900°C after 60 minutes.

Smoke and gas-tight Security doors
Our fireproof doors are normally rated with respect to resistance to fire. Sometimes with the addition of a classification against smoke and gas. This indicates the door’s ability to reduce any leakage of smoke or gas from a fire. Smoke density of doors is denoted by S and has two subclasses. Sa is the designation for smoke density at room temperature and Sm is designated for smoke density at 200°C. These two classifications can be combined or rated separately.

Soundproof Security Doors
Our soundproof doors are tested at Rise. The RC3 door is available with sound reduction of up to 43 dB.
